Threadlifting

Threadlifting

Threadlifting boosts collagen stimulation on lax areas such as the jowl or the whole mid face, lower face or neck.
At Lift Aesthetics Sydney, we use both PDO long and mono threads as well as PLLA (Aptos) threads to reposition fat and firm up the skin.

It is best to get a bespoke treatment plan before the procedure, as this treatment is best mixed with other modes of cosmetic treatments to lengthen the good results.

Our Doctors are highly trained on thread lifting and they are highly sought after for this treatment in Sydney, due to our improved results.

Introducing

APTOS® Thread Lift

PLLA (Poly-L Lactic Acid) threads, an Aptos® thread lift is popular treatment to rejuvenate your face and improve skin quality by producing a self-healing response involving your own collagen. It has benefits of minimal downtime, no scarring, immediate lifting effect and long-lasting results, which helps you to look younger and refreshed.

Soft fine barbed threads are gently inserted into the soft tissue of the areas to be lifted and a local anaesthetic is used in the area to ensure a comfortable experience.

The absorbable threads dissolve within 1.5-2 years, but before
they dissolve, they create a scaffolding of collagen for the skin that supports and lifts the skin for many years post procedure. In addition to the lifting effect, new collagen production will create improved skin with improved firmness, skin tone, colour, texture, and hydration.

Aptos® can be used to treat face and body areas such as:

  • jaw line (jowls), forehead wrinkles, cheeks, and mid-face.
  • eyebrows, lips, and lines around mouth.
  • neck, breast, arms, abdomen, inner thighs, and knees.

Simple 30–45-minute procedure, immediate lift effect result and minimal downtime.

There are no bandages required, so you can return to your normal activities on the same day.

  • Double action, lifting and rejuvenation.
  • New collagen growth and improved microcirculation.
  • Improved skin tone, texture, colour, and hydration.

No scarring and long-lasting results, 2-5 years depending on thread composition.

Threads tighten and lift sagging
skin and replace lost volume by promoting collagen production. It promotes collagen and elastin production, which helps to improve fine lines and wrinkles.

Results can be seen immediately, and continued improvement is noticeable over the coming months. The benefits of a thread lift can last for several years depending on the areas treated and individual response to the threads. Your doctor may also recommend thread lifting in combination with other treatments such as dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections depending
on your desired results.

Introducing

PDO Thread Lift

PDO threads are a treatment that is fast growing in popularity in Australia and around the world. Lift aesthetics has the latest TGA-approved threads available in Australia.

PDO or polydioxanone is a biocompatible product commonly used in surgical sutures. PDO does not remain permanently in the skin and will be reabsorbed over about 6 to 9 months. PDO is broken down in the body eventually ending up as water and carbon dioxide.

They are thin lengths of PDO that
are loaded onto a thin needle which are inserted into the skin. The needle can hold single flat threads, threads wound in a spiral or multiple threads braided together. The more PDO material in the thread, the more collagen stimulation we can expect. Mono threads are generally completely absorbed by about 6 months.

Cog threads are thicker lengths of PDO that are loaded onto a cannula which is then inserted into the skin. These threads have little cogs on them that engage the skin and can lift sagging skin of the cheeks, jowl, or brow when the threads are pulled upwards.

Cog threads are stronger than mono threads, so we can achieve more lifting and contouring effects.

They are usually completely absorbed between 6 to 9 months.

PDO threads have been shown to stimulate new collagen in the skin. The newer threads have less risk of complications such as scars and nodules that are seen with the older threads.

The advantage of PDO threads is that they can stimulate collagen over a long period of time, at least 6 months.

A PDO thread lift treatment can help to improve skin quality, it can
help to smooth and rejuvenate your skin, and tighten sagging skin on the face, neck, and body. We can choose to use monos, cogs or combinations of threads depending on your needs and what you want to achieve.

Generally, mono threads are suitable for younger patients who don’t have much sagging skin and want to rejuvenate their skin. Also, we can use mono threads to help tighten the skin in some areas or to prepare the skin to receive cog threads in older patients.

Cog threads are usually more suitable once there are signs of sagging skin such as the jowls, for patients from their 30s onwards.

Results will vary depending on many factors including the severity of
laxity, number of threads used and the thickness of skin as well as how much firming occurs after the lift. There is some individual variability in results.

We usually suggest at least 2 sessions for mono threads about 3 months apart. Cog threads may be sufficient after a single session but can be supplemented with additional monos after 3 months.

The side effects associated with PDO mono threads are usually mild and involves discomfort, swelling and bruising immediately following treatment. There is almost no downtime for recovery needed and patients can return to normal daily
activities immediately.

The side effects associated with PDO cog threads are usually mild to moderate and includes discomfort, swelling and bruising immediately following treatment. A tight sensation is also common. Sometimes, skin dimpling can occur, especially if there is a lot of sagging to be corrected, but usually resolves
by itself within days to weeks.

PDO threads can be done in combination with other cosmetic treatments such as PRP, anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.
